Are You Square? Be Square 2024 at Maryland Hall!

There’s still time to visit my piece, "Article I, Section 9, Clause 8," in the Be Square 2024 exhibition!

The Be Square show is an intimate exhibit where creativity finds its perfect frame—artists like me explore boundless expressions within the confines of a 12-inch square. From August 22 to September 25, 2024, my work will be on display at the Martino Gallery at Maryland Hall in Annapolis, MD. This unique show brings together a diverse array of 2D and 3D artwork, each fitting perfectly within a square frame.

About My Piece: Article I, Section 9, Clause 8

Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 is part of my ongoing Article I series, which explores themes of governance, conflict of interest, and the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution. By weaving together U.S. currency and the Constitution, I question the delicate balance between money and political power in America. The piece reflects on how the lines between public service and personal gain can blur, and it stands as a protest against the manipulation of political power for personal enrichment.

This small but powerful piece is a part of my larger body of work that challenges viewers to reflect on the integrity of our political system and the values that underpin it.

About Be Square at Maryland Hall

Be Square showcases a broad range of artistic expressions, all within the strict constraint of a 12-inch square. This exhibition is hosted by the Maryland Federation of Art (MFA), and features the work of MFA Members from across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The show proves that great things can come in small, perfectly framed packages.

The exhibition runs from August 22 to September 25, 2024, and is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite piece to win the People’s Choice Award—a great way to celebrate the creativity on display.
